I started out posting photos, reading blogs and doing online stuff with my old PC. That was AMD powered with ATI video card. It was a bit fast for office productivity and internet surfing. A year after, the demands of programs such as Office productivity tools, image editing software, games and more increased. As the computing power increases, computer hardware cost decreases like motherboards, ram memory prices and video cards.

I happened to notice this because I compared computer memory prices a few weeks ago. I bought an additional RAM for my old PC and it’s fair enough to run simple programs for office and internet surfing. What is RAM anyways? Well, Random access memory (usually known by its acronym, RAM) is a type of computer data storage. Today it takes the form of integrated circuits that allow the stored data to be accessed in any order, i.e. at random. The word random thus refers to the fact that any piece of data can be returned in a constant time, regardless of its physical location and whether or not it is related to the previous piece of data.
With my 2GB Memory Upgrade, I could now play NFS Carbon smoothly unlike before. I was hoping to upgrade the processor like the AMD X2 but unfortunately the motherboard doesn’t support dual cores because it was an old ASUS model. I just save and buy a new one and I am thinking of getting a Sony or HP laptop. ![]()
